Although Microsoft's approach to the situation may appear a bit complicated and unfair in some respects (nickle and diming people for extra features from a base price), I will have to admit that their viral campaign is actually quite good. Youtube has three of Microsoft's new viral campaign, which involves giving people free money to purchase a laptop with all the features they are looking for under a specific price that they've specified. Of course, the laptops they find are Windows based, b...
From the bits I've read about it, it seems that this game is a hybrid of FPS and racer. Previewers have likened it to Motorstorm + free roaming ability in a sandbox like environment. Previewers have also described it as Mad Max reincarnation.
It's a lot more complicated than simply selling shares of stock for people to own a piece of a company. There are major corporate advantages to be publicly traded (sell stock)
-If a company tanks, the owners won't lose all their money because they were able to distribute the risks involved with the company to shareholders
-a company gains better recognition and become well known on the market
-it'll also allow a company to find an approximate price for the total compa...
I think I read somewhere that in order to provide any time of entertainment of sorts (whether it be anime from japan or a foreign made videogame) you have to include english voice-overs or whatever in order to sell it in the States. I highly suspect this rule/regulation came from the FCC (basically promoting English first and foremost, because we are "americans" and the other languages second).
Apparently you don't understand the concept of corporate structure ala effectiveness and efficiency. Your one of the 15 year olds btw.
@15-
Wow...I hope you were kidding about that comment, because otherwise that's just very delusional and irrational
On topic: I believe that if anyone were able to produce something visually stunning, it would be Carmack. His progress and track record from Idsoftware is godly by all standards. Maybe a modified version of the id tech 5 engine? Who knows.
it's a spin-off from the Dynasty Warriors/Samurai Warriors hacknslash series.
I'm more curious to see how much the $280 million is in relation to the overall revenue generated by the entertainment division alone. That should give us a good benchmark of how much of an impact the subscription revenue is.
I recall playing the arcade mode of KoF XI numerous times and I had to opt for the half health option for that bastard. His health bar is just insane and the fact that he has 3 of the cheapest moves I have ever seen doesn't help the situation either. Effing whole screen attack that just chips the crap out of you and those stupid transparent smoke blasts are just too much.
woohoo! lol. I think it's good that SCE is trying to focus on more differentiated and unique games, similar to that of the DS. One can only hope that this type of offering will motivate more individuals to purchase a PSP.
SF3 was included in the Street Fighter Anniversary collection for PS2.
That is sooooooooooo not cool. And I was expecting it to drop around late '09....=(
I listened to Podcast Beyond yesterday from IGN, and I believe Greg Miller or Ed Roper mentioned that Sony saw this type of situation occurring, and that they might try to implement some sort of hybrid strategy in order to maintain growth with the Blu-ray capability and videogaming. Apparently, one of the executives said that they are looking into combining games with movies, so you have both a game and a movie on 1 blu-ray. I can see this work for videogames based off of movies and such, but...
You are correct about the fact that it is shipped numbers, I didn't catch the 'sell-in' part the first time I read through it. But, I honestly think that 40-50% sold to customers is low. This comes from how the retailers will manage their inventories of PSP. For instance, we must ask what kind of inventory system they are using (JIT I'd imagine) and what are their specific red zones for when they need a new shipment. If my assertion that the majority of retailers are using some sort of JIT sy...
Wow. Wii Fit hit jackpot, 777. lol
Bryan Fury, day 1!
MLB '09 Demo...do want
go red sox!
**I used to live in Franklin, MA but I moved since going to college. Nonetheless, I still retain my loyalty for Boston. Nothing like a good red sox vs yankees game at Fenway. Definitely great times.
"ftw" stands for "for the win." Alternatively, "ftl" stands for "for the loss"
**oops...this was suppose to be on ur other comment
From what I see, most of the characters mentioned made their first appearance in SFIII. Considering that SFIV's timeline is between II and III, it wouldn't be logical to put them into the game.
Interesting list, I say that Jeremy Soule definitely deserves some recognition for his excellent works. Oblivion and Guild Wars stand out the most to me.
**Yep, he did. I just did a wikipedia search, lol.
